What happens when a volunteer in Myanmar observes a problem that, if properly addressed, could benefit an entire community, yet the observation never makes it past that moment? When a student-led innovation team is looking to tackle a problem with a high societal burden, where can they find current and pertinent issues?
Project Capture is an online platform that bridges the gap between volunteers who have first-hand experiences in developing countries and organisations that provide innovative design and engineering solutions. We will create a crowdsourced database that captures observations from NGO volunteers or employees who are on the ground and experiencing the problem alongside the locals. These insights will be curated in an online database so that students, designers, engineers, lawyers, and other skilled workers can easily select issues that they have the expertise and motivation to address, thereby providing sustainable solutions with lasting impact.
